Memorize the Prayer to St. Michael and the Apostle’s Creed.
Content
Know the 10 Commandments, 7 Sacraments, Parts of the Mass, and Church Seasons.
Language Arts
Spelling
Spell commonly used words at 3rd grade level.
Incorporate spelling strategies into everyday work.
Reading
- Read required selections from a textbook, along with chapter books.
- Read fluently 123 words per minute.
- Be able to comprehend information from a given selection.
Have the ability to reach the required goals for Accelerated Reading.
Grammar/Writing
Use parts of speech in writing: nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, conjunctions, and articles.
Use mechanics and proper structure for writing: indenting, punctuation, end marks, and capital letters.
Use cursive for all letters when composing a piece of writing.
Math
Addition and Subtraction
Use 3 to 4 digits with grouping.
Multiplication
Master 0-10 facts
Solve 2 x 1 digit problems
Division
Solve 1 and 2 digit problems with and without remainders.
Place Value
Compare and order numbers between the ones and the hundred thousands place.
Decimals
Perform operations using decimals
Fractions
Show and understand that fractions are equal parts of a whole.
Measurement
Be able to use units of measure in everyday life (in, yd, cm, mm, etc.)
Shapes/Lines
Be able to recognize solid/plane figures.
Be able to recognize types of lines (parallel, intersecting).
Science
Be able to use the Scientific Method.
Be able to write a research report on a specific animal.
Social Studies
Understand the similarities/differences between urban/rural, native American, and early immigrant lifestyles.
Learn about Michigan History up to statehood.
